The Global Day of Prayer for Muslim Families is the second of the Four Global Days of Prayer to occur annually, uniting believers from across the world to intercede for the 110 Cities and for the nearly 2 billion Muslims who have yet to encounter Jesus, the Prince of Peace. This initiative coincides with One Miracle Night (Laylat-ul-Qadr or the Night of Power), one of Islam’s holiest nights, when Muslims believe their prayers are 1,000 times more powerful. They seek forgiveness and divine intervention, praying intensely for their destiny to be rewritten. This spiritual openness presents a unique opportunity for Jesus Followers to pray for Muslim families, especially as governmental restrictions and cultural opposition seek to limit the spread of the Gospel, making intercession even more critical.

Why Pray for Muslim Families?

• Seeking Peace and Salvation through Works: Muslims believe their entry into Jannah (paradise) depends on their good deeds outweighing bad ones, as stated in the Qur’an. Even with good deeds, salvation is subject to Allah’s will, leaving many uncertain about their eternal fate. During Ramadan, especially on the Night of Power, they strive for forgiveness and acceptance.

• Victims of Legalism and Extremism: Islamic legalism traps many Muslims in a relentless pursuit of salvation while fostering extremist ideologies. Children are especially vulnerable, often recruited into violent groups, manipulated through indoctrination and abuse, and forced into acts of violence. These cycles of fear and control perpetuate both spiritual and physical bondage, leaving many hopeless.

• Persecution and Sacrifice: In many Muslim-majority countries, persecution of Jesus Followers is severe. Laws restrict the free expression of faith, and believers face imprisonment, torture, and death. Once fully devoted to the devil, these men and women now follow Jesus with a radical, life-or-death commitment. This unwavering faith has fueled the Gospel’s advancement like never before, even in the most hostile regions. Pray for the thousands in our care who, despite hiding for their lives, continue to sacrifice everything to serve the King.
